Our Preschool Program
At Coombs Early Learning, our Preschool program is designed to get children curious and excited to learn. Here’s what your child can expect:
We believe that children learn best through play. Our program mixes fun activities with important learning goals, helping your child grow and develop key skills.
Our focus on early literacy and numeracy ensures your child is well-prepared for primary school. We build confidence and independence, giving them the tools to take on new challenges.
Children thrive when they can explore and connect with the natural world. We incorporate bush kinder into our program. It features outdoor activities that promote problem-solving, teamwork, and a love for nature.
Every child is unique, and our teachers adjust activities to match their interests and learning styles. We make sure each child feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Why We Incorporate Bush Kinder into our Programs
Our Bush Kinder program brings learning outdoors, allowing children to explore, discover, and connect with nature.
Nature offers endless opportunities for growth and learning. Bush Kinder helps children build problem-solving skills, resilience, and creativity while exploring the natural world. Climbing trees and digging in the dirt teaches them independence and teamwork, all in a fun, hands-on way.
Children develop a deeper understanding of the environment outdoors. It perfectly balances adventure and learning, helping them grow confidently in a safe, nurturing space.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Preschool Program
In the ACT, children typically begin preschool at age 3 to 5, but some may qualify to start earlier.
We believe that school readiness isn’t defined by a child’s ability to count, write or recite their ABCs. Preparing for school should really focus on a child’s social and emotional development (self-regulation).Through play-based learning, we encourage creativity, exploration, and relationship-building. This approach supports the development of key physical and social skills, early literacy, and numeracy.
- Our Bush Kinder program is woven into the weekly schedule. It gives our children the opportunity to explore and learn in nature.
